The Call to Come Back | Why God Called Malachi to Step Up on the Scene. There comes a time when God stops whispering and starts calling. A time when His voice breaks through our comfort, our routine, and our religion — and says, “It’s time to come back.” In the days of Malachi, Israel had rebuilt the temple, restored the walls, and resumed worship — yet their hearts had grown cold. Their sacrifices were empty, their priests corrupt, and their marriages unfaithful. So God raised Malachi to confront compromise and call His people back to a true covenant relationship. That same call is echoing again today. God isn’t just calling us to come to church — He’s calling us to come back to Him. Back to purity. Back to covenant faithfulness. Back to worship that costs something.
